CLP Design is pleased to announce its new partnership with Solymac International, manufacturers of the Delaubrac line of residential ranges. CLP Design Ranges, a newly-created division of CLP Design, will now be distributing the Delaubrac line throughout the Americas.

Solymac is one of the top tier of manufacturers of French culinary equipment, with a solid and respected history in Europe. However, the brand has very little name recognition in America, despite its history of producing components for other better-known manufacturers such as La Cornue (until the mid-90’s, La Cornue’s cooktops were manufactured by Solymac). Among the distinguishing characteristics of the Delaubrac line are a true chassis-style contruction (the entire range is built on a structural frame of tube steel, none of the visible parts are load-bearing), the largest interior oven dimensions of any comparable French range, and a solid brass vent junction and chimney.

The partnership began when Chris Plummer, CEO of CLP Design, contacted Solymac to inquire about ordering Delaubrac components for a line of custom ranges that CLP Design plans to introduce in late 2009. “I’ve always been a little bit obsessed with the design and construction of French ranges. Out of all the lines on the market, I was especially impressed with the construction of Delaubrac’s ranges and wanted to use their chassis and components for my own ranges,” Plummer said. In speaking with Eric Guichaoua, the head of Solymac-Delaubrac, he says, it soon became apparent that there were much greater possibilities for fruitful collaboration. Guichaoua adds, “We felt that the artistic vision that drives CLP Design, and the company’s experience with high-end American kitchen design, could help us achieve the exposure we need in the American market.”

With seven frame styles in widths from 31” to 63”, electric and gas ovens, a plethora of customization options, and a price tag 20-30% less than other comparable lines, Delaubrac is poised to make a splash in the American market.
